Seventeen-year-old Ellinore has one final quest: find the mythical Elder Beast, and save the life of her reckless twin, Zig. This should be easy for the hero with the best questing record in the kingdom.
But there’s a problem – all of Ellinore’s triumphs have been a lie.
Joined by a ragtag crew, including Aven – the infuriatingly charming royal who’s become her fiercest rival – Ellinore must venture on her first ever quest and decide who she really wants to be: the fraud the kingdom celebrates, the hero it needs, or someone entirely new.
